Create a Photo Album

Description

Putting pictures into photo albums seems to be a chore that we never get around to doing.  With Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 (XP) you can within minutes create a photo album for any pictures that you have on a digital camera, floppy disk, CD or your drive.

Here's how to create your photo album:

In Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Start the Microsoft PowerPoint program and begin with a blank slide

  • Menu Path

    • Insert menu

    • Picture command

    • New Photo Album sub-command

  • Under Album Content, click to Insert Picture From

    • File/Disk

    • Or, Scanner/Camera

      • The Scanner or Camera must be connected to the computer, usually with a USB cable

Insert Pictures Dialog Box

  • Change Look In: to the folder or disk that contains your pictures

  • Select the pictures you wan to add to the photo album

    • Use the <Shift> key to select pictures next to each other in the list

    • Use the <Ctrl> key to select pictures not next to each other in the list

    • Use the <Ctrl> plus <A> keys to select all pictures in the list

  • Click the Insert button

Back to the Photo Album Dialog Box

  • Under Pictures in Album, select a picture to preview

    • Make adjustments to the picture by clicking the buttons below the preview

      • Move the picture up or down the list, Remove a picture from the album, Flip a picture horizontally or vertically, Adjust Contrast and/or Adjust Brightness

  • Under Album Layout, select a Picture Layout such as Fit to Slide

  • When finished making adjustments, click the Create button

    • Microsoft PowerPoint will create a new presentation with a title slide and then slides for each picture in your album

Change or Update the Photo Album

  • Menu Path

    • Format menu

    • Photo Album command

  • Photo Album Dialog Box

    • Make changes to the album

    • Click the Update button when finished
