Determine Folder Size

Description

Use the following steps to determine the size of any folder in Outlook.  You can view the size for a single folder or for a main folder and it's subfolders.

Using the Mouse

  • Single click to select a folder in the Folder List

    • if the Folder List is not displayed, then click the View menu and the Folder List command

  • Position your mouse over the selected folder and click your right mouse button

  • From the shortcut menu, select the Properties command

  • Click the Folder Size button 

  • The Folder Size dialog box will show:

    • The total size of the selected folder

    • And the size of each subfolder

  • WARNING:  the total maximum size of Personal Folders is 2 gigabyte.  When you exceed the 2 gigabyte size limit, the Personal Folders will lock up and become inaccessible.
